a christmas recap.

the past few years i have celebrated december 26th.  the end of christmas.  no more tears, anxiety, children waking at night wondering if christmas will ever be here.  i have hurried to take the tree down and remove any traces of christmas, ready for the simple existence again.

but this year was different.

christmas flew by.  it was wonderful.  there were no overwhelmed kiddos.  they were happy, grateful, and so full of excitement.  we had so many wonderful visitors.  it is so nice to have so much family willing to come and visit and spend the holidays with us.  we opened presents on christmas morning and  the kids laughed and cheered and kissed their prized toys.  they are so spoiled, and rightfully so.

i was so spoiled too.  by my husband, and the littles, and saint nick.

we had a big feast that night and our house was filled to the brim with people, food, and noise.  it was so much, and for that i am thankful.

and now we get ready for a new year.  my darling baby will turn two in just a few days.  can it be?  there is still so much to look forward to.  hopefully 2013 will treat us as kindly as 2012.  we are certainly lucky people.

happy new year!
 their first ice skating experience!

christmas morning excitement could not be contained!

this kid knew just what to do with the presents.  of course, she had practiced a few days before when she snuck in my closet and unwrapped a few gifts that were waiting to be put under the tree!

 pre-christmas gingerbread house making.

a bad case of bed head.  seriously bad.

ada read everyone a christmas story on christmas eve.

her prized babydoll.  she has not put it down once since she opened it.

elias' favorite gift!  he could not stop kissing it!

hannie opened this doll, immediately stripped the clothes off, and then loved it.
she has approximately 8 naked baby dolls in room.
love.
