double digits

good golly, is it true that this precious gift is already ten months old?  10 (gulp.)
i am so lucky to have her.  what a perfect piece of work.
look at those big chocolate drop eyes.
sigh.
she still fits ever-so-perfectly into the crook of my arm as we carry out my chores together.
she is short and squishy-- the best way to be in my opinion!
at her 9 month appointment with the pediatrician she measured
26 inches.  5th percentile.
really, my child?
in the past two weeks she has sprouted four tiny teeth and her smile shows how proud she is!
she is crawling and cruising all over the house.
in the next two months she will walk
and be a toddler
and babyhood will be gone.
i wish she would stay short and squishy forever!

happy ten months hanna tait!

halloween highlights

halloween in this neck of the woods is a huge weeklong event filled with festivals, parties, parades and finally some good old trick or treating!
please notice elias' array of costumes.
he could not decide on just one, and if i tried to help, it became more of a disaster.
luckily all of his costumes can double as either pajamas or a warm winter coat!
ada's choice of an angel was very fitting for her.
most of the time.
and now, i am halloweened out.
the candy was mostly regifted to fellow trick or treaters (since we ran out!)
the kiddos didn't even ask if they could eat a single piece.
obviously the fun was just running door to door.
(it sure is nice when lessons pay off.)

next up, thanksgiving!

a stellar halloween party thanks to the britts!

ada attempting the sugarplum dance at the neighborhood festival!

a weekend visit from our favorite kumars.

off to trick or treat.  with super why- elias' final choice of costumes.

candy is gooo-oood!  (and no, she did not get to try any!)
next year!

a perfect fall weekend

remember that apple cider doughnut i wanted?
well, i got it-- two and a half to be exact!
after a fairly traumatic trip for ada to get tubes in her ears friday, we decided to make it up to her with a fun filled weekend.
first, nande, auntie shannon, uncle brendon, baby lukie, and my whole crew headed to the pumpkin patch for a very entertaining hay ride of sorts.
when we got home, reza was waiting for us.
there is nothing like getting off early on a friday!
so, what did we do?
we loaded up our truck (honda pilot, really!) and headed to the mountains!
we stopped at my parents on the way and then set off apple picking on saturday morning.
after we gathered more apples than i will ever know what to do with, we drove to asheville and spent the night with old friends in their beautiful house on biltmore lake.

and here are the pictures we have to show for it:

ta-da!

and in case you are wondering, yes, my kids are playing with a wine opener, which also serves as a dragon trainer and a ninja sword.
