maine

warning- this post in filled with pictures!
we got back from our little jaunt to maine on saturday.
a week in kennebunkport
with stops in ogunquit, portland, freeport.
we had a blast.
actually, more than a blast, but i am not sure they have a name for it!
the kids loved (almost) every minute.
we spent most of our time
going for looong walks (which is my favorite)
playing on loads of different beaches (also my favorite)
and
eating ice cream (another total favorite of mine!)
you see, i planned an entire vacation for myself and then let the kids come.
and you know what?
their goals were the same as mine!
we played lots of kickball and wiffle ball in our big grassy backyard
and just spent LOTS
of time together.
and you know what?
it was wonderful!

we ate ice cream EVERY day!
that was our one and only goal!

the kids did LOADS of rock climbing!

someone hijacked my camera and i found lots of pictures of nature and even a rare on of reza and i!

all the stones used to build this church were found on the ocean floor.

ada, hanging out at the bush compound.

 hanna. our character.

elias with his lobster roll.  he did NOT like it. he even picked out a lobster for reza to eat, and when it arrived he almost cried.  he wished he had kept it as a pet.

 pals.

saul loved, loved, loved the beach.  crawled straight into the water head first, chewed on rocks, and rolled in the sand.

 saul is quite the climber!

 a very rare family picture!

 our polar bear club.

we can't wait to go back!

a good day.

reza was out of town for a few days.
a few is always too many!
but
this is a success story.
a good day.
a walk to weaver street for breakfast.
a trip to franklin street for doughnuts.
a picnic on campus.
playtime in the arboretum.
and to top it all off
the kids all played inside a box
for the last hour and a half of the day.
sheer awesomeness.

and here are the pictures to prove it.

like i said
sheer awesomeness.

the past month

our life is full in every way possible.
bursting at the seams, really.
this little blog has definitely been put on the back burner,
but pictures from the past month are definitely worth sharing.
enjoy.

a sledding disc turned swimming pool

our garden is now planted.  unfortunately the bunny has eaten every plant that has sprouted.

saul went from creeping and crawling to now trying to walk.
and, at his 9 month appointment he was 18 lb!

 just because.

 easter loot.

 his obsession.

my favorite part of my little yard.  viburnum.

 best friends.

he wore ada's jacket one day, and i looked at him and called him ada!
i never thought they looked alike, until that day.

oh boy, this kid's hair will tell his life story.
grows straight up, and is very good at catching bugs.

 sisters.

we found this cool little moth, freshly hatched.
beautiful.

this is what i was pushing on the swing one day.
my little hanna is such a mess!

 she has mastered the ripstik.

every waking i find him like this.
do you think i should lower the crib?

 our favorite horsey.

 ada's school festival.

 my little nine month old.

a big day of watching soccer.
