3. it's a magic number.

my boy.

celebrating his birthday with his preschool class.

this kid is turning three tomorrow.  are those tears swelling in my eyes?  he is such a boy (dare i say man) already.  his enthusiasm for life is unmatched by any person i have ever met.  he WILL do great things.  he has so many of his own superpowers, it puts superman to shame.  he is mine, and although he clearly prefers his father day after day, i will claim him with all my might.  he is strong, loving, compassionate, hilarious, and down right naughty.  he is so capable and rarely asks for help with anything.  and he is growing up so quickly.

my elias, i love you with all my heart.  i remember, like yesterday, the day you were born.  you looked like a tiny linebacker and were such a good baby, sleeping six inches away from me for the first six months of life (you had no bedroom).  you are perfect and make my life so full of joy and wonder.

happy birthday sweet boy.
may all of your wishes come true.

 the day elias was born.

elias on his first birthday.

double digits

good golly, is it true that this precious gift is already ten months old?  10 (gulp.)
i am so lucky to have her.  what a perfect piece of work.
look at those big chocolate drop eyes.
sigh.
she still fits ever-so-perfectly into the crook of my arm as we carry out my chores together.
she is short and squishy-- the best way to be in my opinion!
at her 9 month appointment with the pediatrician she measured
26 inches.  5th percentile.
really, my child?
in the past two weeks she has sprouted four tiny teeth and her smile shows how proud she is!
she is crawling and cruising all over the house.
in the next two months she will walk
and be a toddler
and babyhood will be gone.
i wish she would stay short and squishy forever!

happy ten months hanna tait!
xoxo

halloween highlights

halloween in this neck of the woods is a huge weeklong event filled with festivals, parties, parades and finally some good old trick or treating!
please notice elias' array of costumes.
he could not decide on just one, and if i tried to help, it became more of a disaster.
luckily all of his costumes can double as either pajamas or a warm winter coat!
ada's choice of an angel was very fitting for her.
most of the time.
and now, i am halloweened out.
the candy was mostly regifted to fellow trick or treaters (since we ran out!)
the kiddos didn't even ask if they could eat a single piece.
obviously the fun was just running door to door.
(it sure is nice when lessons pay off.)

next up, thanksgiving!

a stellar halloween party thanks to the britts!

ada attempting the sugarplum dance at the neighborhood festival!

a weekend visit from our favorite kumars.

off to trick or treat.  with super why- elias' final choice of costumes.

candy is gooo-oood!  (and no, she did not get to try any!)
next year!
