are you ready for the holidays?
we are getting there!
the stockings are hung, the tree is up and decorated, gingerbread houses have been constructed, the outside is covered with white lights, and last but not least, the shopping is DONE!
hooray for me, i know.
it was an ordeal. i am very happy this special day only comes once a year.
a quick example of why:
last week i got elias dressed for a big trip to the mall to shop for gifts. i was desperate (otherwise i would NOT take him). i told him to hop in the car while i ran upstair to get hanna, who was just waking from a nap. i changed her diaper and ran down to the car, strapped her in, and we were on our way. upon arriving, i got elias out of the car and notice that the lovely outfit i had put him in was no longer on, just boxer briefs and a pj shirt-- the outfit he had worn to bed the night before.
oh, and he had no shoes.
apparently in the time it took me to change hanna's diaper he had stripped himself naked and redressed, minus the shoes.
i sucked it up and told him we were still going to shop and i did not care how embarrassed he was to walk around in underwear and a t-shirt.
people stared and wondered, and judged my poor parenting.
then i noticed people staring more.
i felt my blood boil.
seriously, didn't they know how hard a three year old boy could be.
i glanced back at elias and gasped.
he had pulled his penis out over his underwear and was flapping it around as we walked though southpoint mall.
horrifying.
so now you know why i am so super happy the shopping is done.
tonight we go see santa. we have the pleasure of having him visit our very own neighborhood. no lines for us!
and tomorrow, two holiday parties.
and friday we head to the mountains for a little getaway... with the kids.
oh, and in case your life needed some serious cuteness. my hanna. my very own mommy magnet. she is suctioned to me and ever so happy being that way.
and almost a walker. each day she goes farther and farther. i give her one week.
xx.
